Qualification and Requirements

Becoming a property negotiator, the qualifications aren’t really important although many agencies are keen to explore further possibilities with fresh graduates. Being a negotiator means you have to be good with people from all walks of life. The ability to remain calm under pressure while having a determination and confident might get you far in this career.

A good interpersonal skill will definitely get you further in this career as you will be meeting with different types of people as your clients. Since this is fundamentally a sales job, you have to be persuasive but in a polite way that able to influence the buyers to buy. Real estate is a fast moving industry and you need high drive and commitment to succeed.

Since you are providing service, you should be prepared to be available for the public outside of office hours. Your normal work hours will be 8:30 AM till 7:00 PM but it may stretches up according to the increasing demands of your service. But be careful when arranging appointment with complete strangers and vacant or empty houses. It is better for you to do the property viewing in pair where you can cover for areas. It is also advisable to not do the sub sale property viewing at night for your own safety.

However the same thing does not apply to the undercon property agent as they do not need to do any property viewing to do the sales. This is considered as the perks of being an undercon property agent because they don’t need to arrange for property viewing with their customers compare to the sub sale property agent.

Earning potential of property agents

Regarding your earnings, you will earn based on how hardworking you are in doing your job and how experienced you are. Your determination is the one that can set the benchmark how much you want to earn. You will earn more if you are hardworking enough and plan your time to approach more people while selling off more properties. Low sales means you will receive low salary. It is all based on how hardworking you are in order to close deals every hours and days. Income might fluctuate depending on how many of the property sales closed.

You will also gain some valuable experiences from time to time and with more experience you will be able to get promoted to become the leader of your team. Hence later you will also earn the commission overriding from the property that you have sold as well as from your subordinates since you are the one giving guidance and training in order to close the case.
